Stanton netted the third Cat goal when he snuck in from the sidelines and converted a pass from junior attackman Andrew Hanover who was behind the goal. Cassalia increased the lead to 4-0 with his second goal of the game.

Hanover then extended the lead to 6-0 with two consecutive goals. The first on an assist from junior middie Alex Bily and the second coming by way of a pinpoint shot in the lower right hand corner of the goal. Dabrowski ended the first quarter 7-0 route with his second goal of the quarter after scooping up a loose ball after Hanover was knocked down in front of the goal.

The Wildcats continued their domination over the last three quarters outscoring Horesheads 14-4 while senior goalies Casey Rotella, Bob Toms and Brian Cummings turned back all but four Horeshead shots on the day.
