The West Genesee boys varsity lacrosse team 0-0 (1-0)d up defense of their 2002 State Championship crown
with a resounding 21-4 win over the visiting Horseheads
Blue Raiders from Sec. IV at Cicero North Syracuse Highschool.
The Cats wasted no time getting on the board with an

who won the draw and swept in uncontested putting a
20 yard shot past the Horeseheads goalie Billy Olin
for a 1-0 lead.
Senior attackman Drew Dabrowski upped the score 2-0
when he took a pass from junior middie Brian Stanton
and tucked a right handed bounce shot past Olin with
10:38 remaining in the quarter. Stanton netted the third
Cat goal when he snuck in from the sidelines and converted
a pass from junior attackman Andrew Hanover who was
behind the goal. Cassalia increased the lead to 4-0
with his second goal of the game.
Hanover then extended the lead to 6-0 with two consecutive
goals. The first on an assist from junior middie Alex
Bily and the second coming by way of a pinpoint shot
in the lower right hand corner of the goal. Dabrowski
ended the first quarter 7-0 route with his second goal
of the quarter after scooping up a loose ball after
Hanover was knocked down in front of the goal.
The Wildcats continued their domination over the last
three quarters outscoring Horesheads 14-4 while senior
