Cats continue to roll with 15-1 pasting of Central Square

West Genesee continued to roll with their third post F-M pasting by downing visiting Central Square by a score of 15-1. The Cats have dominated their last three opponents by a score of 42-3.

Junior middie Alex Bily began the fireworks with the first Genny goal at 8:36 with an assist from junior attackman Andrew Hanover for a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later senior middie Keil Moore was the recipient of another Hanover feed and the Cats had staked themselves to a 2-0 advantage. Moore was at it again with an unassisted blast from 18 yards out at 7:42 as Central Square began to reel behind a 3-0 deficit. Senior middie and co-captain Matt Cassalia fired a left hander into the left corner of the cage at 5:45 to keep the Wildcats rolling at 4-0. Senior co-captain Drew Dabrowski spotted up from 18 yards at the 5:05 mark before depositing his hot in the cage with an assist from senior middie Jake Moulton and Genny pushed the lead to 5-0. Cassalia ended the Genny deluge with his second goal of the quarter ending the quarter with a 6-0 lead.

Genny added three more goals in the second quarter, the first was from Dabrowski who converted a pass from senior attackman Jed Bebee for a 7-0 lead at the 7:51 mark. Less than a minute later at 7:03 Cassalia contributed his third goal taking a pass from Dabrowski who was behind the goal and firing a missile that ricocheted in off the cross bar for an 8-0 advantage. Hanover made it 9-0 this time on the receiving end of a pass from senior middie Pat McCormick.

In the third quarter it was junior attackman Tom Donahue finding the range at 6:25 with a Dabrowski helper for a 10-0 advantage. Genny’s 11-0 advantage came off the stick of senior middie Michael Paul Solamon with an assist from sophomore attackman Dave Osier. Junior attackman Joel Dirrigo made the score 12-0 with an assist from Donahue to end the third quarter.

Senior attackman Mike Malfitano answered the Central Squares lone goal of the game with his first with an assist to Osier to increase the lead to 13-1.
Dirrigio then added his second with another helper from Osier as the Cats went for the kill 14-1. Senior middie Jeff Murphy finally ended the evening with an assist from Solamon and Genny’s demoltion was complete with a 15-1 win.
