Cats pull the plug on the 'Pool 11-2
Dabrowski and Mike Conklin lead Genny
The West Genesee Wildcats improved to 8-0 (14-2) overall with a commanding win over the visiting Liverpool Warriors 11-2 at home on Wednesday at West Genesee High School in a game that could easily have been much more of a rout if not for the stellar goaltending of Liverpool netminder Adam Fullerton. Fullerton who stopped 16 Wildcat shots in the game denied numerous Wildcat shots from point blank range. It was a game played in some of the most pleasant conditions of the year after suffering a one day delay due to the ground crews inability to line the field the day before as they lost their battle with the ever present rain. Neither team seemed to be able to grab a foothold in the game as it took nearly the entire first quarter before either team got their first goal.
Senior attackman, co-captain Mike Conklin did the honors for Genesee with a goal with just 2:35 remaining with an assist to sophomore attackman to put the Cats ahead 1-0. Just over a minute later with only 1:25 left senior attackman Drew Dabrowski circled the Liverpool cage and went air borne and stuck a shut in the lower corner of the goal for a 2-0 lead. Conklin picked up his second of the game, the first of the second quarter as he took a feed in front from Dabrowski and gave the Cats a three goal cushion at 7:35. Senior middie Matt Whoolshlager put the Cats ahead 4-0 as Dabrowski once again worked his magic from behind the cage for his second assist in a row.
Liverpool began the third quarter with their first goal of the game with an unassisted goal by junior middie Jeff Cuban to cut the Genny lead to 5-1. Genny answered with a goal by senior middie Matt OConnell who took a pass from Woolshlager and rattled a shot off the inside of the post to give the Wildcats a 6-1 advantage. Hanover increased the Genny margin to 7-1 with just under two minutes in the third with an assist to senior middie Jim Mullaley.

The Catsd the final stanza with the Conklin brothers teaming up for the eight tally of the game as senior co-captain middie Mark Conklin broke down the slot towards the goal, drew the defenders then dished off o Mike for his fourth of the game and an 8-1 lead. After Liverpool notched their second of the game junior middie and face-off man Matt Cassalia won the draw sprinted down the center of the field, hit Dabrowski who then one timed the ball to Hanover who deposited his shot in the cage and the Cats were rolling 9-2. Dabrowski would then team up with senior attackman Jake Bebee as Dabrowski fourth assist of the game led to Bebees first goal and a 10-2 advantage.
Bebee would then return the favor as he assisted on Hanovers third goal of the game as Genny rolled to an 11-2 victory.
